Kambarage M. Wasira is the elected Member of the East African Legislative Assembly representing Tanzania. An electrical engineer and business leader, he was born in Musoma and hails from Manyamanyama, Bunda, in the Mara Region - the son of a Regional Commissioner and a registered nurse. Public service was not a career choice. It was how he was raised.
He studied electrical engineering and earned an MBA from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, before returning home to build Audacia Investment (T) Ltd - a civil and building contractor that has delivered roads and water infrastructure across Tanzania. He did not learn about development from a desk. He managed the contracts, led the teams, and saw what it takes to get things actually built.
He describes his reason for standing: Tanzania needs people who understand the citizens' problems and can work with the government to bring development. That is the standard he holds himself to.

The East African Community, re-established by treaty in 2000 and today comprising eight member states, represents a combined GDP of 751 billion dollars and 350 million people. It is not just a regional bloc. It is a vision for prosperity that demands practical, results-driven representation. Tanzania must have strong voices at that table.

Before returning to Tanzania, Kambarage spent several years working in the United States, building experience across telecoms and financial services. His most significant role was at Verizon Wireless, where he led a team of network analysts at one of America's largest corporations. It was practical experience in how large organisations actually function - the systems, the accountability, the scale.

In 2007, Kambarage came home and founded Audacia Investment (T) Ltd. What began as a contracting firm has grown into one of his most concrete contributions to Tanzania - roads laid, water systems built, communities connected. He runs it to this day as Founder and CEO, and the company's work spans multiple regions of the country.

He proudly hails from Manyamanyama, Bunda - a community he carries with him wherever he serves. From 2012 to 2017, Kambarage served as a CCM delegate to the National Congress, representing Bunda District. The National Congress is CCM's highest decision-making body, bringing together delegates from across the country to set party direction, elect leadership, and shape national policy. Serving as a delegate is not a ceremonial role - it places you at the table where the party's most consequential decisions are made.
He currently chairs the Finance, Economy and Planning Sub-Committee for Bunda District - a role that puts economic policy and resource planning at the centre of his party work, and exactly the skills he now brings to EALA.

Kambarage came to public service through business, not the other way around. He built a company. He managed workers, won contracts, dealt with bureaucracy, and delivered projects in regions where infrastructure had long been promised and rarely arrived.

Audacia Investment (T) Ltd has been operating for nearly two decades, delivering road and water infrastructure across Tanzania on behalf of government agencies and development partners. The projects are real and so are the communities that use them. That experience is what he brings to EALA, a ground-level understanding of what development actually requires: resources, accountability, and people who follow through.
At EALA, those qualities are not decorative. The Assembly legislates on trade, procurement, infrastructure, and economic integration for a region of hundreds of millions. He knows this territory. He has worked in it.
